Visa aspirants requiring a Canadian PR can choose the Canadian Express Entry. People across the world apply for a PR through the Express Entry system. Business owners, dependents, students, skilled workers etc. that want to settle in Canada can opt for this scheme. An electronic point-based system determines the applicants qualified to receive a PR. Usually, people who reside in Canada for a longer duration become eligible to work and settle there. A comprehensive Ranking System or a CRS is used to determine your eligibility score. This score can get improved by various means like skill transferability, provincial nomination, valid job offers or a relative who settled there. Core Human Factors (like an accompanying spouse) yield additional plus points. A minimum score of 67 in the electronic point-based selection system is needed after which applicants get profiled into the “Expression of Interest”.

Someone who has a prior work experience can opt to apply for the Federal skilled worker Program (this also falls within the Express Entry system. This system allows the applicants to apply any time of the year. CIC conducts draw at regular intervals, and applicants holding high CRS scores are sent an “Invitation to Apply”.
